Head of EM Macro and Strategy Research, Amundi
Alessia Berardi is the Head of EM Macro and Strategy Research based in London. She is responsible for the top-down research analysis for the Global EMs.
Alessia joined the Global Research Team at Amundi Asset Management (formerly Pioneer Investments) in 2004. She began her career covering the main Developed Market economies (the U.S, Europe, and Japan) and since 2013, she has been leading the research team in London with a specific focus on Global Emerging Markets. She covers Emerging Markets across the regions. Her approach is model-driven, aimed at identifying the fundamental factors that eventually influence investment decisions. She monitors and forecasts economic factors, policies, trends and risks impacting the economic/business cycle and the financial markets.
She is responsible for the development of the Global Outlook for Amundi Asset Management, supporting investment decisions balancing innovative research with the practical ability to implement investable solutions. She is also involved in advisory engagements with institutional clients, building and maintaining clients’ relationships while bridging academic rigor with the ability to disentangle complex economic and financial matters.
Alessia has industry experience since 1998. She graduated in Economics from the University of Pavia in 1998. Alessia published pieces as part of the Economic Research Papers at the Bank of Italy on BVAR Techniques for the construction of quarterly and monthly forecasting models in 1997. She is a lecturer at the University of Genoa.
